The future of work is arriving faster than ever, and a unique learning hub is preparing individuals to not just survive, but thrive. The YGG Play Summit is dramatically expanding its Skill District, a dedicated space designed to unlock earning potential in the rapidly evolving worlds of Web3 and Artificial Intelligence.
This isn’t just theoretical training; it’s about acquiring practical, job-ready skills. Workshops will focus on the core competencies demanded by the digital economy – from compelling content creation and strategic marketing to building and nurturing vibrant online communities and the intricacies of game development.
Within the Skill District, a groundbreaking workshop called “Prompt to Prototype” will empower aspiring creators to build games using the power of AI. Imagine turning an idea into a playable experience with the assistance of intelligent tools – a skill set poised to be incredibly valuable.
A new interactive forum, spearheaded by Metaversity, will bring together industry experts, government officials, and academic leaders. The goal? To directly address the critical skills gaps hindering the growth of the emerging tech workforce and collaborate on solutions with the students themselves.
The Metaverse Filipino Worker (MFW) City initiative is already demonstrating tangible results. A pilot program, in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, is showcasing the potential of developers from the MIMAROPA region trained in the Sui blockchain’s Move programming language.
According to officials, this collaborative effort embodies a national commitment to “Digital Bayanihan,” uniting industries, communities, and the government to empower talent across the Philippines. The vision is clear: to create rewarding careers that allow Filipinos to flourish from home.
The World Economic Forum predicts a massive shift in the global labor market, with technology driving both job creation and displacement. Nineteen million new roles are expected to emerge through increased digital access, while nine million existing roles could become obsolete. AI and information processing will further reshape the landscape.
For the Philippines, this highlights an urgent need to cultivate digital fluency and technical expertise. The Skill District aims to equip workers with the tools they need to seize these opportunities, rather than be left behind by the wave of automation.
Leading educational institutions are joining the effort, including STI College – Bonifacio Global City, alongside universities and esports organizations from across the nation. The University of Santo Tomas, National University, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines are among those participating.
Beyond the Skill District, the YGG Play Summit will feature a dynamic lineup of industry leaders sharing their insights through panels, fireside chats, and keynote addresses. Speakers include prominent figures from Sky Mavis, Ubisoft, Pixels, and many other innovative companies.
The YGG Play Summit will be held from November 19 to 22 at SMX Aura, Bonifacio Global City.
