National University, a cornerstone of Philippine education for 125 years, is embarking on a significant period of growth, dramatically expanding its footprint across key locations.
Driven by a commitment to accessible education, the university is responding directly to surging student demand, particularly in areas poised for economic opportunity.
Clark, emerging as a hub of activity, has already demonstrated the most rapid student growth, prompting the construction of a brand-new academic tower equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories.
The expansion isn’t limited to Clark; the Mall of Asia campus will gain two additional floors, bolstering its capacity to accommodate a growing student body eager to pursue in-demand fields like Engineering, Architecture, and Psychology.
Fairview is also slated for a new academic tower, while the historic Manila campus will see the addition of 24 classrooms, dedicated faculty spaces, a comprehensive learning resource center, and a modern auditorium.
Currently serving over 83,000 students across fourteen campuses, National University has ambitious plans to reach 100,000 students by 2027, with further expansion planned for Davao, Iloilo, and Urdaneta.
Looking further ahead, the university envisions a nationwide network of twenty campuses by 2028, solidifying its position as a leading educational institution throughout the Philippines.
Strategic placement within SM complexes provides students with unparalleled convenience, offering immediate access to essential services – transportation, bookstores, and dining – fostering a dynamic and integrated learning environment.
This expansion represents a remarkable turnaround for National University, which faced significant challenges after a devastating fire in 1998 destroyed its main building and led to declining enrollment.
The acquisition by SM in 2008 proved pivotal, providing the resources and support needed to rebuild and revitalize the institution, setting the stage for this new era of growth and accessibility.
