Adding another layer of complexity, planned talks in Türkiye between Yermak and US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, were abruptly cancelled. The timing suggests a deliberate avoidance, with one journalist suggesting Witkoff may have been shielded from the unfolding crisis.
The cancellation raises questions about the US role and awareness of the internal turmoil. It hints at a situation spiraling rapidly, where even key international players are navigating treacherous political waters.
