$70 BILLION INBOUND: Canada's Economic EXPLOSION is HERE!

$70 BILLION INBOUND: Canada's Economic EXPLOSION is HERE!

A billion-dollar initiative is taking shape to dramatically expand Canada’s critical minerals processing capabilities, fueled by a landmark agreement with the United Arab Emirates.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the project following a pivotal visit to Abu Dhabi, a trip focused on strengthening trade ties amidst growing global instability, particularly the escalating conflict in Sudan.

The agreement promises to unlock over $70 billion in investment from the UAE, a substantial vote of confidence in Canada’s economic future and its potential to become a global leader in essential resource processing.

Prime Minister Mark Carney speaks during a major projects announcement in Terrace, B.C., Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025.

This isn’t simply about economic growth; it’s about positioning Canada at the forefront of innovation, capitalizing on its strengths in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and life sciences to benefit people worldwide.

Carney personally extended an invitation to Emirati investors, offering to host them in Canada to explore opportunities in transformative projects, building on the recently signed investment-protection pact and the launch of formal trade negotiations.

The initial investment commitment from the UAE reaches $50 billion USD, with funds earmarked for strategic sectors including energy, artificial intelligence, logistics, and mining – industries poised for significant growth.

Carney emphasized a shared vision between Canada and the UAE, highlighting their alignment as trading nations and emerging energy superpowers committed to a sustainable future.

Despite appearing vastly different, he noted the UAE’s leading adoption of artificial intelligence and its position as a sophisticated global investor, making it an ideal partner for Canada’s ambitions.

A major trade mission to the UAE is already planned for next year, focusing on energy, agriculture, and the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence, marking the beginning of a new era in bilateral relations – the first such visit by a Canadian prime minister in four decades.

Beyond economic partnerships, Carney addressed the urgent situation in Sudan, raising concerns about the ongoing civil war with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Discussions centered on efforts to establish a ceasefire and achieve lasting peace, referencing the U.S.-led “Quad” process involving the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United States.

Carney’s announcement in Abu Dhabi preceded his departure for the G20 leaders’ summit in Johannesburg, where Canada will champion five key priorities on the global stage.

These priorities include strengthening critical mineral supply chains, harnessing AI for sustainable development, preventing wildfires and disasters, reforming global development funding, and promoting gender equality through economic empowerment.

The G20 summit takes place against a backdrop of geopolitical tension, with the U.S. administration opting for limited representation due to concerns about the host country, South Africa.

Canada, however, remains firmly committed to international collaboration, seeking to address pressing global challenges and forge a path towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.
