JUST IN: Chicago Shootings After Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony Leave 8 Injured and One 14 Year Old Dead, Lawmaker Says 300 Juveniles were Rioting in Teen Takover – Trump Responds! (VIDEO)

The festive glow of Chicago’s newly lit Christmas tree was brutally shattered Friday night as chaos erupted in the city’s Loop. What began as a celebration quickly descended into a terrifying scene of violence, leaving one young man dead and eight others wounded.

The unrest unfolded after an event advertised on social media, drawing hundreds of juveniles to the downtown area. Witnesses described a “teen takeover” – a riotous surge of young people that overwhelmed the streets and ultimately, turned deadly. The first reports came just hours after thousands had gathered peacefully in Millennium Park for the official tree lighting.

Seven teenagers, ranging in age from 13 to 17, sustained gunshot wounds and are currently in stable condition. But the night’s horror didn’t end there. Less than an hour later, just blocks away, a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot, and an 18-year-old man suffered a leg injury.

Alderman Brian Hopkins painted a stark picture of the escalating situation, reporting on social media that approximately 300 juveniles were actively rioting and attacking police officers. He detailed disturbing accounts of officers being injured with mace and stun guns, with at least one requiring hospitalization.

Mayor Brandon Johnson addressed the incident Saturday morning, focusing on the presence of firearms. He characterized the gathering as an “unsanctioned after-gathering” and stated that five guns were recovered from the scene. He also criticized the federal government, asserting the city had been actively working to reduce violence.

The timing of this outbreak is particularly sensitive, as National Guard troops were reportedly preparing to withdraw from Chicago following a federal appeals court decision blocking their deployment. The Supreme Court is currently considering an appeal to reinstate that deployment, leaving the city vulnerable.

The events in Chicago drew a swift and pointed response from former President Trump, who condemned Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Johnson. He accused them of refusing federal assistance and highlighted calls for his direct intervention to restore order.

This incident isn’t isolated. Disturbingly similar violence marred a Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Concord, North Carolina, where gunfire erupted and three teens were charged. The echoes of these events raise serious questions about safety and security during public celebrations.

The streets of Chicago, meant to be filled with holiday cheer, instead bore witness to a night of tragedy and unrest. The investigation continues, and the city grapples with the aftermath of a shocking display of violence.
