HYPOCRISY EXPLODES: Dems SILENT on Obama, RAGING at Trump!

HYPOCRISY EXPLODES: Dems SILENT on Obama, RAGING at Trump!

The photograph surfaced quietly – a Facebook image of a smiling sixteen-year-old. Abdulrahman Anwar al-Awlaki, an American citizen born and raised in Denver, Colorado, was weeks away from his seventeenth birthday when a drone strike ended his life in Yemen. He never had a chance to defend himself, never faced accusation or trial.

His father, Anwar al-Awlaki, was a controversial figure, a US-born cleric linked to al-Qaeda. In September 2011, Anwar became the target of a targeted strike authorized at the highest levels of the US government. The decision to eliminate him rested with President Barack Obama himself.

Seven months later, a chilling revelation emerged. The New York Times reported that Obama personally signed off on the kill list, directly approving individuals for drone strikes. Just weeks before this news broke, Abdulrahman, the son, met the same fate as his father – a bomb delivered from the sky, authorized from afar.

Smiling teenager with curly hair sitting in a room filled with colorful clothes and indoor plants.

The circumstances surrounding Abdulrahman’s death raised profound questions about due process and the boundaries of executive power. He was a child, a US citizen, and his name appeared on no official list of combatants. The justification for his killing remained shrouded in secrecy.

Years later, in January 2020, another high-profile assassination unfolded. General Qassim Soleimani, a commander of Iran’s al-Quds Force, was killed in a US airstrike at Baghdad International Airport. Alongside him died Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a key figure in Iran-backed militias. The strike claimed seven lives in total.

Soleimani was accused of orchestrating the deaths of numerous American service members in Iraq, a justification offered for the strike. The response, however, was sharply divided. Outrage erupted from some corners, with accusations of escalating tensions and reckless disregard for international law.

More recently, actions taken against individuals involved in the trafficking of illicit drugs into the United States sparked further controversy. While the stated aim was to protect American lives from a devastating opioid crisis, the response was again met with fierce criticism and accusations of overreach.

These events, separated by years and continents, share a common thread: the use of lethal force, authorized at the highest levels of government, often with limited transparency and significant moral implications. They force a reckoning with the difficult questions surrounding targeted killings and the evolving nature of warfare in the 21st century.
