CHILD PREDATORS SNATCHED: ICE Unleashes Justice!

A surge of action by federal immigration officers has led to the arrest of two individuals, both convicted of crimes against children, in separate operations across New Jersey and Texas. These arrests signal a heightened focus on removing violent offenders from within U.S. borders, a commitment officials say is paramount to public safety.

Gladys Leticia Bustamente-Rios, a citizen of Honduras, was taken into custody after illegally re-entering the country despite a previous deportation and a lifetime ban. Her initial entry into the U.S. occurred in 1997, quickly followed by charges of assault and a family offense that resulted in a five-year prison sentence.

An immigration judge ordered her removal in 1998, and she was deported the following year. Yet, she defied that order, making the deliberate choice to return to the U.S. illegally – a felony offense in itself. ICE officers recently located and arrested Bustamente-Rios at her home, where she remains in custody awaiting further deportation proceedings.

The second arrest involved Maria Alejandra Gamarro-Quinonez, a Guatemalan national, whose entry into the U.S. was initially legal. She arrived on a visitor visa but overstayed the permitted duration, failing to depart by the required date in 2007.

Gamarro-Quinonez came to the attention of ICE after being arrested for theft in New Jersey and subsequently released on bail. She was issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge, who ultimately ordered her removal from the country in 2025.

However, her case took a disturbing turn when she was arrested again in Texas while reporting for probation related to charges of child endangerment and abandonment. This arrest triggered ICE to take her back into custody, where she will remain pending her final removal from the United States.

Officials emphasize that these cases represent a firm resolve to protect the most vulnerable members of society. The message is clear: those who prey on children will be identified, apprehended, and removed, ensuring they can no longer inflict harm.

These recent operations underscore a renewed dedication to prioritizing public safety and aggressively pursuing the removal of individuals deemed dangerous threats to communities across the nation. The commitment is unwavering, officials state, until those communities are truly safe.
