PUTIN REJECTS PEACE: War Escalates to Dangerous New Level!

Vladimir Putin has signaled that key elements of a U.S. peace proposal for Ukraine are unacceptable to Moscow, casting a shadow over hopes for a swift resolution to the nearly four-year-long conflict. The Russian President described recent discussions as “difficult work,” suggesting a substantial gap remains between the two sides.

The U.S., under President Trump, has initiated its most ambitious diplomatic effort to date to halt the fighting. This push centers on navigating deeply conflicting demands, particularly concerning territorial concessions from Ukraine and guarantees of future security against further Russian aggression.

Special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner recently concluded a five-hour meeting with Putin in the Kremlin, a session described as “necessary” but fraught with disagreement. The talks involved a meticulous examination of each point within the U.S. proposal, a process that consumed a significant amount of time.

While Trump expressed optimism, stating his representatives believed Putin was genuinely interested in a deal, the Russian leader remained tight-lipped about specifics. He cautioned against publicizing details, fearing it could jeopardize the delicate progress being made behind closed doors.

European leaders have voiced concerns, feeling excluded from the direct U.S.-Russia negotiations. Some suspect Putin is merely creating the appearance of engagement to serve his own strategic purposes, while the brutal realities on the ground continue unabated.

Overnight, Russian attacks intensified across Ukraine, targeting civilian areas with devastating consequences. A missile strike in Kryvyi Rih injured six, including a young child, and caused extensive damage to homes, a school, and vital infrastructure.

Tragically, a six-year-old girl succumbed to injuries sustained during artillery shelling in Kherson, a city already reeling from relentless attacks. The Kherson Thermal Power Plant, essential for heating over 40,000 residents, has been forced to shut down after days of sustained drone and artillery bombardment.

Authorities are scrambling to find alternative heating sources, erecting temporary shelters equipped with warming facilities and charging stations for residents left without power. Simultaneously, Odesa was struck by drones, leaving six wounded and causing damage to civilian and energy infrastructure.

The scale of the overnight attacks was significant, with officials reporting the launch of two ballistic missiles and 138 drones towards Ukrainian territory. The conflict continues to exact a heavy toll on both sides, even as diplomatic efforts proceed.

In the Russian-occupied Kherson region, a Ukrainian drone strike resulted in the deaths of two men and injuries to a woman. This incident underscores the ongoing reciprocal nature of the violence and the complex challenges facing any potential peace process.
