NYC UNLEASHED 7,000 Criminals! Sheriff's Under ATTACK for ICE Cooperation!

NYC UNLEASHED 7,000 Criminals! Sheriff's Under ATTACK for ICE Cooperation!

A chilling reality is unfolding in New York State, as thousands of individuals with criminal records have been released from jail, despite requests from federal immigration authorities to hold them. The number currently stands at nearly 7,000, a figure that sparked urgent concern and a pointed discussion with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.

The released individuals aren’t accused of minor offenses. Department of Homeland Security records reveal a disturbing pattern: 29 individuals linked to homicide cases, over 2,500 with assault convictions, and hundreds more with charges ranging from burglary and robbery to sexual offenses and weapons violations. These are not simply immigration violations; these are documented criminal acts.

Congresswoman Tenney recently addressed the situation, highlighting the defiance of state policies towards ICE detainer requests. She expressed frustration with the state’s Attorney General, Letitia James, alleging a deliberate disregard for public safety. James, according to Tenney, isn’t merely aware of the releases, but is actively pursuing legal action against local sheriffs who *do* cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

The Attorney General’s actions are focused on Oswego County Sheriff Don Hilton and the Nassau County Sheriff’s office, accused of misconduct for upholding federal law. This creates a dangerous precedent, effectively penalizing law enforcement for attempting to collaborate on public safety initiatives. The situation is further complicated by New York’s firm stance as a sanctuary state.

Tenney emphasized the vulnerability of New York’s northern border with Canada, revealing that a staggering 90% of individuals on the foreign terror watch list apprehended at the border under the current administration have entered through that region. This, combined with the state’s sanctuary policies, creates a potentially perilous environment.

The Department of Homeland Security has directly appealed to Attorney General James, urging her to prioritize the safety of American citizens and honor ICE detainers. Currently, over 7,100 individuals in New York custody have active detainers, with a history of even more serious crimes – including 148 homicides and 260 sexual predatory offenses.

Officials within the Department of Homeland Security have voiced strong condemnation, accusing New York’s leadership of knowingly releasing “murderers, terrorists, and sexual predators” back into communities. The call for action is clear: prioritize public safety and cooperate with federal law enforcement to prevent further risk to innocent Americans.

Adding another layer of complexity, the incoming New York City Mayor has publicly vowed to limit cooperation with ICE, only allowing deportations in cases of “serious crimes.” This stance, coupled with the current state policies, paints a concerning picture of a jurisdiction increasingly resistant to federal immigration enforcement.
