MAN UTD DISASTER: Star FROZE in Front of Goal!

MAN UTD DISASTER: Star FROZE in Front of Goal!

Monday night’s match saw Manchester United secure a 4-1 victory over Wolves, but the performance of one player sparked debate: Matheus Cunha.

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker raised a pointed question about Cunha’s motivation, suggesting the forward appeared reluctant to truly test his former team. The Brazilian had recently made a significant move away from Molineux, joining United in the summer transfer window.

The opening goal, a somewhat chaotic affair, highlighted Parker’s observation. Cunha intercepted a back pass, but instead of seizing the opportunity to shoot, he attempted a pass to Bruno Fernandes – a pass that ultimately fell short, yet still led to a goal.

Despite registering eight shots throughout the game, Cunha’s overall performance felt strangely subdued to Parker. He lacked the usual intensity and drive, appearing hesitant to fully commit against his old teammates.

Parker believes Cunha seemed preoccupied with avoiding any appearance of disrespect towards Wolves. This manifested in a lack of aggressive pursuit of the ball and a noticeable absence of appeals for fouls – behaviors Parker typically associates with the player.

“He looked a little bit embarrassed to be there,” Parker stated, sensing a desire to leave the match “unscathed” and without causing offense. Even a United win seemed less important than maintaining good relations with his former club.

Cunha spent two and a half years with Wolves, becoming a key player and scoring 15 Premier League goals in his final season. His departure coincided with a dramatic downturn in form for Wolves, who currently find themselves deep in relegation trouble.

Playing against a former club can be emotionally complex for any footballer, but Parker felt Cunha’s display went beyond simple sentimentality. It was, in his view, a clear demonstration of respect – perhaps too much – for his previous employers.
