ASIALINK UNLEASHES $50 MILLION POWER-UP!

ASIALINK UNLEASHES $50 MILLION POWER-UP!

A surge of $50 million in new funding is poised to dramatically expand financial access for small businesses across the Philippines. This substantial investment will bolster Asialink Finance Corp.’s ability to provide crucial loans to the nation’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The additional capital joins an existing credit facility backed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), bringing the total available lending power to $165 million. This influx represents a significant commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fueling economic growth at the grassroots level.

Officials at Asialink emphasize that these resources will unlock opportunities for MSMEs, driving job creation and fostering a more inclusive economic landscape. The company is strategically positioned to capitalize on this momentum with a growing network and a clear vision for the future.

The initial $115 million agreement with the ADB, signed in December 2024, specifically targeted working capital for MSMEs, with a dedicated focus on supporting businesses owned by women. This commitment reflects a broader strategy of inclusive financial development.

That initial funding was comprised of a $50 million loan from the ADB itself, alongside $50 million from HSBC’s ASEAN Growth Fund and an additional $15 million from Security Bank Corp. This collaborative approach demonstrates strong confidence in Asialink’s mission.

Asialink is actively pursuing further diversification of its loan products and a nationwide expansion, aiming to establish nearly 300 branches by the end of the year. This aggressive growth strategy will bring vital financial services to even more communities.

Currently operating over 250 branches, Asialink already serves a substantial base of 19,265 MSMEs. Loan disbursements have also experienced a healthy 6% increase this year, reaching P16.6 billion across the company’s portfolio.

A key achievement of the past year was the launch of the Women’s Access to Inclusive Support (WAIS) Loan, partially funded by the ADB and the International Finance Corp. This specialized product is designed to meet the unique needs of women entrepreneurs.

The WAIS Loan has already demonstrated remarkable success, serving over 2,600 women-led MSMEs since its introduction in July. This strong early adoption signals its potential to become a cornerstone offering for Asialink in the years to come.

Company leadership reflects on a transformative year, marked by network expansion, innovative product launches, and industry recognition. These milestones underscore Asialink’s unwavering dedication to serving the Filipino people and supporting their ambitions.
