Kennedy, however, emphasizes the urgency of the situation and the need for immediate action. He points to the five months that have passed since the passage of the earlier tax package, arguing that the time for deliberation is over.
He is hopeful that Senator John Thune, a key figure in Republican leadership, will reconsider his position and agree to another reconciliation bill specifically targeted at alleviating the financial burden on American households.
