Titled "Hypothetical Counter-Influence Plan," the document chillingly outlined a five-step process for manipulating women, detailing how to erode their autonomy and gain control.
The plan’s steps – “stabilize and strengthen,” “plant gentle doubts,” “rebuild her autonomy,” “shift the power dynamic,” and finally, “let her choose” – read like a playbook for emotional and psychological abuse. It suggests a calculated and premeditated approach to exploitation.
Adding to the victim’s fear, she reportedly told investigators that Lough had discussed a “step-by-step process” for committing murder and that he carried a concealed firearm. This revelation paints a picture of a man who instilled terror and control through both psychological manipulation and potential physical threat.
Lough’s connection to the Christian Center of Mesquite, where his father previously served as senior pastor, adds another layer of complexity to the case. While the church maintains Lough was not an employee, the alleged incidents occurred on church property, prompting a strong condemnation from the church board.
