SOO SHOCKER: Drunk Driver TAKEN DOWN – Brampton Transport Nightmare!

SOO SHOCKER: Drunk Driver TAKEN DOWN – Brampton Transport Nightmare!

A quiet Tuesday afternoon in Sault Ste. Marie took a troubling turn when authorities received a report of a potentially impaired transport truck driver. The call came in around 3:15 p.m., focusing attention on a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Industrial Park Court.

Police quickly arrived and engaged with the driver, identified as 48-year-old Gagandeep Singh from Brampton. Their observations and subsequent investigation led officers to suspect Singh’s ability to safely operate the massive vehicle was compromised by alcohol.

A breath test was administered, and the results allegedly confirmed the officers’ concerns. Singh now faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, as well as having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.

Activated emergency light on a police cruiser.

The incident isn’t isolated. Just days prior, another man from Brampton found himself in trouble near the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge.

On Friday evening, a motor carrier officer initiated a traffic stop on a semi-truck exhibiting commercial vehicle violations. The routine check quickly revealed a far more serious issue: the truck had been reported stolen in Ontario.

Further investigation uncovered a deliberate attempt to disguise the vehicle’s identity, with an altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The truck and its trailer were immediately seized by Michigan State Police.

Yuvraj Singh, 24, now faces multiple charges, including receiving and concealing stolen property, motor vehicle fraud, and operating with an invalid license plate. The two separate incidents highlight a concerning pattern unfolding in the region.

Both cases underscore the potential dangers posed by impaired and unlawful vehicle operation, raising questions about vigilance and security along the Canada-US border.
