TAIWAN TERROR: Cold-Blooded Killer Plotted Carnage for a YEAR!

TAIWAN TERROR: Cold-Blooded Killer Plotted Carnage for a YEAR!

A chillingly calculated assault unfolded in Taipei, Taiwan, leaving a trail of devastation and unanswered questions. The perpetrator, 27-year-old Chang Wen, didn’t act on impulse; instead, police revealed a meticulously planned attack that brewed for over a year before erupting in violence on Friday.

The attack itself was a terrifying sequence of events. Chang indiscriminately targeted civilians, wielding a knife and deploying smoke grenades first within a bustling metro station, then on the crowded streets above. He then fled into a department store, desperately attempting to evade capture.

Cornered by pursuing officers, Chang made a final, desperate act – plunging from the fifth floor of the department store to his death. The suddenness and brutality of the attack sent shockwaves through Taiwan, a nation unaccustomed to such widespread violence.

Taiwan police cordoned off the scene after a knife attack in Taipei, Taiwan, Friday, Dec. 19, 2025.

Investigators piecing together the timeline discovered a disturbing level of preparation. Chang wasn’t simply armed; he actively concealed his movements, switching between a scooter, bicycle, and walking to confound pursuit. He even deliberately set fires, damaging vehicles and his own apartment in a chaotic attempt to cover his tracks.

“He was extremely cunning,” declared Taipei’s police chief, Li Hsi-Ho, highlighting the complexity of the operation. The suspect’s preparations began in April 2024, with the acquisition of smoke grenades, gas canisters, respirators, and other tools necessary to carry out his plan.

The motive behind the attack remains under investigation, but authorities have uncovered a history of instability. Chang had been evading mandatory military service since July, having previously been discharged from a voluntary term for driving under the influence.

Adding to the mystery, Chang had completely severed ties with his family, remaining out of contact for more than two years. This isolation suggests a deepening internal struggle, potentially fueling the rage that culminated in the horrific events of Friday.

The aftermath of the attack continues to unfold. Five individuals remain hospitalized, one still in intensive care, but thankfully in stable condition following surgery. The city is now grappling with the emotional scars and heightened security measures in the wake of this unprecedented tragedy.
