From police provocateur to ‘professional sex tourist’
Wallace has reportedly been livestreaming his experiences as self-described “professional sex tourist” and “passport bro,” travelling to other countries in search of sexual encounters, according to news website G1 .
He spent time in Colombia before moving to Brazil, specifically at hotels in Rio de Janeiro.
Wallace was arrested on Monday after an Uber driver reported a suspicious ride on Dec. 5 in which a foreigner who called himself Terry William had requested a pickup for two female minors.
The girls told the driver they did not know the man, who did not speak Portuguese, and were unsure where they were being taken.
An internal investigation launched by Uber discovered the same user had created and used multiple accounts to repeatedly order rides for underage girls.
The probe found that the man never appeared at the pickup locations and only issued instructions to drivers remotely.
Nearly two weeks later, on Dec. 18, the same account requested transport for four girls under the age of 18 from an impoverished area of Rio.
The driver again reported his concerns about the minors.
Wallace was busted in Sao Paulo after investigators suspected he was preparing to leave the country, the outlet reported.
What did cops find?
Cops seized five USB drives, seven memory cards, a laptop, five mobile phones and several SIM cards, along with soft toys, a balaclava-style mask and watches, including one fitted with a hidden camera.
“Many victims” have been identified, Police Chief Cristiano Maia, from the Brazil’s Child and Adolescent Victims Division, said.
Authorities believe Wallace is connected to similar offences in other countries.
Aside from examining the contents of the unemployed YouTuber’s seized phones, police are also investigating whether his pricey trips have been financed by third parties, allegedly in exchange for the production of sexually explicit content, G1 reported.
Wallace is facing charges of rape of a vulnerable person and facilitating the sexual exploitation of minors, which carry a combined prison sentence of up to 34 years — and possibly longer terms if aggravating factors are uncovered.
