NO JUSTICE: Killer Walks Free in Campus Massacre!

NO JUSTICE: Killer Walks Free in Campus Massacre!

A father, facing a murder charge after a shooting on a Kentucky State University campus, has been cleared by a grand jury. Jacob Lee Bard was accused in connection with the December 9th incident that left one student dead and another critically wounded, but the grand jury found no reason to indict him.

Bard’s defense team argued from the start that he acted to protect his son, who was being violently attacked. They described a chaotic scene where 20 to 30 individuals converged on the family, escalating into a brutal assault.

The incident unfolded as Bard and his family, accompanied by campus police, were moving his younger son out of his dormitory. According to his attorneys, the family had already decided to withdraw both sons from the university due to a series of escalating violent incidents.

As they approached the dorm, a group wearing masks and hoods allegedly rushed out and initiated a violent attack on the family and the accompanying officer. The son was reportedly beaten, his head slammed against the pavement during the confrontation.

The attacks stemmed from a prior incident where the son reported a burglary in his dorm room to campus police, leading to threats against him. He is now in a secure, undisclosed location due to ongoing death threats.

The grand jury’s decision, announced by Bard’s attorney, Scott Danks, brought a swift end to the legal proceedings. Danks stated definitively that the jury found Bard acted in self-defense, and he has since been released from jail with his bond refunded.

Kentucky State University acknowledged the grand jury’s decision, but emphasized that it does not diminish the pain felt by the campus community. The university reaffirmed its commitment to student safety and maintaining a secure learning environment.

Despite the legal closure, the events have left a lasting impact, highlighting concerns about safety and violence on campus and the difficult choices parents face when protecting their children.
