ICE SHOCKER: Runaway Migrant Wrecks Agency Vehicle – Operation EXPOSED!

ICE SHOCKER: Runaway Migrant Wrecks Agency Vehicle – Operation EXPOSED!

A routine traffic stop in Slidell, Louisiana, quickly escalated into a significant enforcement action last week. A driver, later identified as a woman from Honduras, ran a red light and collided with a government vehicle, unknowingly interrupting a major federal operation.

The incident occurred as agents were actively engaged in “Operation Catahoula Crunch,” a targeted initiative designed to apprehend dangerous criminal aliens in the New Orleans region. Remarkably, no one was injured in the collision, but the aftermath led to the woman’s immediate arrest by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

Operation Catahoula Crunch, named for the hardy Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, is focused on removing individuals who pose a serious threat to public safety. The operation specifically targets those who have exploited previous, more lenient border enforcement policies – violent offenders, drug traffickers, and individuals with outstanding warrants.

To date, the sweep has yielded approximately 370 arrests, with authorities highlighting the severity of the charges faced by those apprehended. Cases include aggravated battery, domestic abuse, arson, and grand theft auto, painting a stark picture of the individuals being targeted.

Police reports identified the driver as 43-year-old Reyna Funez. The investigation revealed she attempted a right turn on red, failing to yield to oncoming traffic. Despite the other driver’s attempt to avoid the impact, a collision proved unavoidable.

The unfortunate turn of events took a further twist when it was discovered the vehicle Funez struck belonged to the U.S. government and was being used by federal agents participating in Operation Catahoula Crunch. Funez was also found to be driving without a valid license and was not a legal resident of the United States.

Agents promptly took Funez into custody, transforming a traffic accident into an unexpected, but crucial, success for the ongoing operation. The incident underscores the complexities of border security and the challenges faced by law enforcement in apprehending those who seek to evade justice.

Department officials have emphasized that Operation Catahoula Crunch is focused on removing “the worst of the worst” criminal aliens, aiming to enhance public safety and restore order in the region.
