Christian Sturdivant allegedly intended to unleash violence with knives and hammers on those simply preparing for celebrations, targeting a grocery store and a nearby fast-food restaurant. The intended victims weren’t random; his disturbing notes revealed a hateful focus on Jews, Christians, and LGBTQ individuals.
Federal agents moved swiftly, arresting Sturdivant just hours before the planned assault. The operation wasn’t a stroke of luck, but the culmination of a careful investigation that began years earlier, in January 2022, when authorities first detected his contact with an ISIS member in Europe.
At that time, a minor, Sturdivant had already received instructions to prepare for attacks, specifically to dress in black and wield a hammer. This early warning sign prompted continued surveillance, a silent watch over a young man spiraling towards extremism.
