COP ATTACKED! Massive Drug & Gun Bust Rocks Toronto Streets!

A routine traffic stop in Markham quickly escalated into a significant seizure for York Regional Police. On Monday afternoon, officers patrolling Major Mackenzie Drive and Jennings Gate noticed something amiss during a vehicle stop.

The initial observation of readily available cannabis prompted a more thorough search of the vehicle and its occupants. What officers discovered was far more concerning than a simple possession charge.

Hidden within the vehicle was a loaded firearm, alongside a disturbing quantity of illicit drugs. Investigators identified the substances as cannabis, fentanyl, cocaine, oxycodone, and hydromorphone – a dangerous cocktail of controlled substances.

Corey Hamblett, 37, of Toronto, now faces a staggering 17 charges, including multiple firearm-related offenses and accusations of violating court orders. His situation was further complicated by an existing firearms prohibition stemming from a previous, unrelated incident.

Avantae Oliver-Delva, 22, of Beaverton, is also facing serious consequences, charged with 11 offenses, six of which relate to the firearm found in the vehicle. Both men are now facing the full weight of the law.

Meanwhile, in Toronto, a Parking Enforcement Officer was the victim of an unprovoked assault while performing their duties Monday night. The incident occurred while the officer was issuing a parking ticket.

According to reports, the individual receiving the ticket became immediately confrontational, escalating the situation into a physical attack. The officer sustained minor lacerations as a result of the assault.

Following treatment at a local hospital, the officer has recovered, and the assailant has been charged. The Toronto Police Association has strongly condemned the act of violence against a public servant.

The TPA emphasized that disputes over parking infractions should be resolved through the proper legal channels, and that resorting to violence against an officer is never justified – nor worth facing criminal charges.
