Yet, he stressed the urgent need for external guarantees of protection amidst the escalating instability.
Government troops have already seized key towns along the Euphrates River and control the country’s largest oil and gas field. This rapid territorial gain has fueled Kurdish anxieties, with Hamo placing the responsibility for the unfolding crisis squarely on Western nations, particularly the United States. He even alluded to a hope for support from Israel, referencing past interventions to protect minority groups.
