The silence of a January night shattered at Lockwood Leasing in Oakville. Just after 3:30 a.m. on January 11th, a group of masked figures, cloaked in darkness, breached the dealership’s security, initiating a brazen theft that would send ripples through the region.
Their target wasn’t cash or electronics, but a collection of automotive dreams. The intruders systematically acquired keys to eight high-performance vehicles – a stunning Ferrari, two sleek Porsches, two powerful BMWs, and three luxurious Mercedes-Benzes – representing a combined value of a staggering two million dollars.
Within hours, these vehicles vanished into the sprawling landscape of the Greater Toronto Area. The audacious theft triggered an immediate and intensive investigation by the Halton Regional Police, determined to recover the stolen property and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The first break in the case came swiftly. Police located a BMW, a Mercedes-Benz, a Porsche, and the coveted Ferrari, all abandoned and empty within the GTA. The recovery offered a glimmer of hope, but the search for the remaining vehicles – and the thieves – continued relentlessly.
A crucial link emerged when Peel Regional Police recovered another Porsche 911 and apprehended two men. This arrest wasn’t isolated; investigators quickly connected the individuals to the Lockwood Leasing break-in, expanding the scope of the investigation.
On January 14th, Halton police investigators took both men into custody. Amin Hadj Kaddour, 24, of Mississauga, and Joshua Twa’colagiacomo, 24, of Victoria Harbour, Ontario, now faced charges of break and enter, and disguise with intent.
Though initially held, both accused were later granted bail. However, their legal troubles were far from over, as they also faced additional criminal charges stemming from their arrests by Peel Regional Police, suggesting a wider pattern of criminal activity.
The investigation remains active as authorities continue the search for the remaining stolen vehicles and any additional suspects involved in this elaborate scheme. Anyone with information is urged to come forward, potentially holding the key to closing this case.
