Chantel Spring Hayford, 38, and Jerry Allen Menees were arrested on January 13th, following an investigation sparked by concerns raised by the Division of Family Services. The allegations paint a disturbing picture of prolonged cruelty and control.
Investigators allege the teenagers, ages 13 and 14, were subjected to unimaginable torment, including being confined within a locked chicken pen and then deliberately shot at with BB guns. This wasn’t an isolated incident, but part of a sustained campaign of abuse.
The children reportedly lived in constant fear, threatened with actual firearms – a handgun specifically – and warned of deadly consequences should they ever reveal the abuse they endured. The weight of silence was forced upon them through intimidation and violence.
