A late-night collision at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Elm Drive in Mississauga ignited a dramatic pursuit, ultimately leading to significant drug charges. The incident unfolded around 11 p.m. on January 9th, involving a Hyundai Elantra and a Range Rover Evoque.
Witnesses reported the driver of the Range Rover immediately abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, disappearing into the surrounding neighborhood. Peel Regional Police responded swiftly, deploying their Air Support Unit to track the suspect’s movements from above.
From the air, officers observed the fleeing man discarding multiple bags as he desperately attempted to evade capture. The discarded items immediately raised suspicion, hinting at something far more serious than a simple hit-and-run.
A coordinated effort involving the Canine Unit and Criminal Investigation Bureau followed, culminating in a brief foot chase and the suspect’s arrest. The contents of the discarded bags revealed a shocking quantity of illicit drugs – fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine – with an estimated street value of $200,000.
The investigation didn’t end with the roadside seizure. Investigators secured a search warrant for the suspect’s Mississauga residence, uncovering even more methamphetamine and a substantial amount of cash. The 21-year-old, identified as Nitin Malik, now faces multiple charges.

Between 2021 and 2023, Viola Galamini is accused of misappropriating approximately $72,000 from a fundraising account belonging to Rygiel Supports for Community Living, a group dedicated to supporting community members. The alleged scheme involved a calculated breach of trust.
