Apple DESTROYS Samsung's Foldable Dream!

Apple DESTROYS Samsung's Foldable Dream!

The anticipation for Apple’s first foldable phone builds with each passing month, but Samsung isn’t waiting. They’re pushing the boundaries of mobile technology with the Galaxy Z TriFold, a device that reimagines what a phone can be – unfolding into a stunning 10-inch tablet.

This isn’t just a concept; it’s a remarkably thin reality. When fully extended, the TriFold measures less than 4mm in thickness. It boasts a vibrant 6.5-inch cover display, a sophisticated triple-camera system with 3x optical zoom, and a robust 5,600mAh battery supported by blazing-fast 45W charging.

Such innovation comes at a premium. The Galaxy Z TriFold carries a price tag of $2,899, placing it firmly in the ultra-luxury category. While Apple is often associated with high costs, Samsung’s flagship devices are no strangers to substantial investments.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra commands a price comparable to the forthcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the sleek S25 Edge rivals the iPhone Air in cost. Even the more accessible S25 FE aligns with the expected price of the iPhone 16e. Samsung’s tablets, too, reach upwards of $1,499, demonstrating a consistent positioning in the high-end market.

The TriFold’s $2,899 price point, however, feels particularly ambitious. Considering the existing $1,999 starting price of their standard folding phone, this represents a significant leap. It begs the question: what value does this extra complexity truly deliver?

To put the cost into perspective, a comparable investment in Apple products could yield a complete ecosystem. For roughly the same amount, one could acquire an M4 MacBook Air, an iPhone 17, an iPad, an Apple Pencil, AirPods Pro 3, and an Apple Watch Series 11.

And that’s at full retail price. Savvy shoppers could find even greater value through retailers like Amazon or Best Buy, potentially adding an Apple TV 4K and a set of AirTags to the bundle. The only item remaining just out of reach would be the Apple Vision Pro.

When Apple finally enters the foldable arena in September, it’s unlikely to be a budget-friendly option. It may even surpass the Galaxy Z Fold7 in price. But for those quick to criticize Apple’s pricing, Samsung’s latest offering serves as a potent reminder that innovation doesn’t come cheap, regardless of the brand.
