AUTHORITIES HUNTED HIM: Fugitive's Desperate Plea EXPOSED!

A desperate move unfolded last year as Ryan Wedding, now alleged to be a major drug kingpin, secretly sought a court order to evade arrest. The former Canadian Olympic snowboarder had spent over a decade concealed in Mexico, but even then, the walls were closing in.

Documents reveal Wedding believed Mexican authorities were on the verge of capturing him, fearing an arrest warrant and subsequent extradition. He claimed to be residing in Los Mochis, a coastal city within the heart of Sinaloa state – a region synonymous with powerful cartels.

This legal maneuver occurred shortly after a chilling escalation in the case: the assassination of a key witness poised to testify against Wedding. Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia, a fellow trafficker, was murdered in Medellin, Colombia, allegedly after Wedding placed a US$5-million bounty on his head.

Ryan Wedding is escorted in handcuffs from the plane that brought him from Mexico to the U.S. to face trial after his arrest on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026.

After a relentless year-long international manhunt involving agencies across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic, Wedding was finally apprehended. He was swiftly transported to California to face justice.

FBI Director Kash Patel delivered a stark assessment, comparing Wedding to notorious figures like El Chapo and Pablo Escobar, labeling him “the largest narco trafficker in modern times.” The gravity of the charges against him – 17 federal counts – reflects the scale of the alleged operation.

Wedding has pleaded not guilty to charges encompassing murder, drug trafficking, witness tampering, and complex money laundering schemes. The accusations paint a picture of a sophisticated criminal enterprise.

Mexican authorities describe Wedding as a “top-tier logistics operator” intricately linked to the Sinaloa cartel. His role, they allege, was crucial in facilitating the widespread distribution of drugs throughout North America, acting as a vital connection point.

The successful capture is being hailed as a triumph of international cooperation, with praise directed towards the Mexican government, various U.S. agencies, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Canadian officials have declared it a significant victory for public safety.

Wedding is scheduled to appear in court again on March 24, where the legal battle will continue. The case promises to reveal further details about the inner workings of a vast and dangerous drug network.
