Qais Ahmad Tillawi allegedly abandoned a rental car and discarded two jackets before successfully entering the aircraft, despite his boarding pass being flagged as invalid. His actions immediately raised concerns among passengers and crew.
Witnesses described Tillawi as behaving erratically once on board, refusing to be seated and instead pacing the aisle, creating a palpable sense of unease throughout the cabin. The captain ultimately made the difficult decision to evacuate the plane.
This wasn’t an isolated incident. Authorities discovered Tillawi had a history of similar disruptive behavior at airports, including a prior arrest that led to a temporary commitment to a mental health facility earlier this year in Dubai.
An Air France passenger first alerted airline staff to Tillawi’s suspicious conduct while he was still in the boarding area. His behavior prompted immediate concern and initiated the chain of events that followed.
