The incident occurred on January 27th, instantly drawing national attention and sparking a firestorm of controversy.
President Donald Trump, when questioned about the attack, offered a startling response. He claimed to barely consider Omar, labeling her “a fraud” and even suggesting, without evidence, that she may have orchestrated the incident herself.
Omar, speaking at a press briefing following the event, directly linked the attack to the President’s rhetoric. She asserted that Trump’s “hateful” language consistently fuels a surge in death threats directed towards her and the communities she represents.
She argued that the heightened security measures now necessary for her public appearances are a direct consequence of the President’s actions, implying his words create an environment conducive to violence. The incident immediately ignited debate across social media platforms.
