A legal challenge to halt a large-scale immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis has failed. A federal judge rejected an emergency request for an injunction, allowing the operation, known as Metro Surge, to continue without interruption.
The lawsuit, brought by Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the State of Minnesota, aimed to immediately stop the operation. They argued for its cessation, but U.S. District Court Judge Katherine Menendez determined they hadn’t met the stringent legal requirements for such an emergency order.
