The University of Perpetual Help System Dalta (UPHSD) continues to dominate the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball scene, recently overpowering Mapúa University in a decisive 25-20, 25-21, 25-11 victory.
This win marks the Lady Altas’ fourth consecutive triumph, solidifying their position at the top of Pool A and signaling a formidable force within the league.
Cyrille Joie Almeniana spearheaded the attack, unleashing a powerful performance with 18 points, including an impressive 16 spikes that relentlessly challenged the Mapúa defense.
The Lady Altas’ momentum is undeniable, highlighted by a stunning upset victory over the reigning four-time champions, College of St. Benilde, in a nail-biting five-set match just weeks prior.
Now, UPHSD sets its sights on Pool B, a challenging group that will truly test their mettle against a new wave of competition.
Their journey through Pool B begins with a Saturday match against Emilio Aguinaldo College, followed by encounters with Colegio de San Juan de Letran, San Beda University, Arellano University, and Lyceum of the Philippine University.
The Lady Knights of Letran share UPHSD’s perfect record, promising a captivating showdown between two undefeated teams hungry for victory.
Matches are scheduled for Friday at San Andres Gym, beginning with a 9 a.m. contest between SSC-R and LPU for both men and women, followed by a 2 p.m. clash between JRU and San Beda, also for both genders.
