IRAN DECLARES WAR: US BASES IN CROSSHAIRS!

A stark warning echoed from Tehran this weekend, as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared a direct response to any American attack. He stated that while striking U.S. soil is off the table, American bases within the region would become immediate targets should Iran be attacked first.

This declaration arrived alongside cautious optimism regarding recent, indirect nuclear talks held in Oman. Araghchi characterized the discussions as “a good start,” noting a shared understanding that negotiations should continue – a fragile hope in a landscape of escalating tensions.

The threat wasn’t delivered in a vacuum. It’s a direct response to a past action: last year’s American operation, dubbed “Midnight Hammer,” which targeted Iranian nuclear facilities. The memory of that strike remains a potent catalyst for Iran’s current stance.

Iran’s immediate retaliation to “Midnight Hammer” – a missile attack on the Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar – was publicly downplayed by then-President Trump. He characterized it as “very weak,” claiming that the vast majority of the launched missiles were intercepted.

The recent Omani-mediated talks involved separate meetings between Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi, Araghchi, and U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, along with Jared Kushner. The focus was on establishing conditions conducive to a resumption of both diplomatic and technical negotiations.

Oman’s Foreign Ministry emphasized the importance of these talks, highlighting a shared determination among all parties to achieve lasting security and stability. However, Araghchi cautioned that continued progress hinges on internal consultations within both Iran and the United States.

The core issue remains the future of Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions. The path forward is fraught with peril, balanced precariously between the potential for renewed dialogue and the looming threat of direct military confrontation.

The distinction Araghchi drew – targeting bases rather than neighboring countries – is a calculated attempt to limit the scope of any potential conflict. It’s a signal, however fraught, that Iran seeks to contain escalation, even while preparing for a forceful response.
