The following day, the Anzalduas International Bridge, linking Mission, Texas, with Reynosa, Mexico, became the site of another grim discovery. Anthony Magana Mendoza, 22, underwent a secondary inspection, which confirmed an outstanding warrant for his arrest related to the assault and injury of a child, elderly, or disabled person.
The third arrest occurred at the Del Rio International Bridge, where border personnel identified a warrant for Jose Kaleb Juarez, 19, concerning allegations of sexual abuse of a child. These three arrests, in such rapid succession, paint a stark picture of the dangers lurking and the vigilance required to protect the most vulnerable.
