Russian officials vehemently condemned the International Olympic Committee (IOC), alleging a blatant inconsistency in its application of rules. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov publicly stated the IOC had “discredited itself entirely” in 2024, pointing to what Russia perceived as a glaring disparity in treatment.
