Forensic analysis has yielded a clearer picture of the individual seen on a doorbell camera at the 84-year-old’s Tucson, Arizona home. The suspect, captured wearing a ski mask and black gloves, had a gun visibly holstered at his waist.

The FBI’s Phoenix office has now authorized a reward of up to $100,000 for information that either locates Nancy Guthrie or leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. This significant increase underscores the urgency of the case.

Alongside the updated description, the FBI released photographs of the distinctive backpack and a still image of the suspect taken from the security footage at the home of Savannah Guthrie’s mother.

Authorities are meticulously reviewing the overwhelming response from the public, having already received over 13,000 tips since February 1st. Each piece of information is being assessed for credibility and potential leads.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31st, after being dropped off at her home by her son-in-law following a dinner with her daughter. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain shrouded in mystery.

Amidst the investigation, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has vehemently denied accusations of hindering the FBI’s access to critical evidence. He insists claims of withholding information are entirely false.

Reports had surfaced alleging the sheriff was blocking access to DNA evidence found within Guthrie’s home and a glove discovered near her residence. Nanos countered that he proactively suggested sending all collected DNA samples to a single, comprehensive lab for analysis.

He explained his reasoning, stating it made more sense to consolidate the evidence where all existing DNA profiles and markers were already stored. The FBI reportedly agreed with this approach.

Furthermore, Nanos questioned the significance of the recovered glove, noting that multiple similar gloves were found discarded along the roadside near Guthrie’s home. He emphasized the need to focus on verifiable evidence.

The sheriff concluded by requesting patience and understanding, stating that the investigation is ongoing and critiques can be offered once the case is resolved. The priority remains bringing Nancy Guthrie home safely.
