JOLLIBEE'S EXPLOSIVE GROWTH: Coffee War Incoming!

JOLLIBEE'S EXPLOSIVE GROWTH: Coffee War Incoming!

Jollibee Foods Corp. concluded 2025 with a surge in systemwide sales, reaching P122.3 billion – a remarkable 12% increase compared to the previous year. This growth signals a period of dynamic expansion and strategic investment for the company, setting the stage for an ambitious future.

A key component of this expansion is the planned arrival of Compose Coffee in the Philippines in 2026. Originating in South Korea in 2014, Compose Coffee has quickly become a sensation, built on a commitment to accessible, high-quality coffee. The brand’s rapid growth – exceeding 1,000 new stores in just 18 months and boasting over 3,000 locations – demonstrates its powerful appeal.

The success of Compose Coffee isn’t just about quantity; it’s about customer satisfaction. Recent surveys in Korea awarded Compose Coffee the highest ratings among its low-cost competitors, a testament to its dedication to product excellence and a positive customer experience.

Beyond coffee, Jollibee is strengthening its presence in the dining sector with the full acquisition of All Day Fresh Co., Ltd., the operator of the popular Shabu All Day hot pot restaurants in South Korea. This acquisition brings 169 established locations and annual systemwide sales of $285 million into the Jollibee portfolio.

The integration of Shabu All Day is projected to significantly impact Jollibee’s financial performance, increasing global revenues by an estimated 2% and boosting international business to 46% of the total. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) are expected to rise by 8% in 2026.

This strategic move builds upon a successful partnership with Elevation Equity Partners Korea Ltd., which began in 2024 with the acquisition of Compose Coffee – a deal recognized as the top M&A transaction of the year by Korean media. Elevation remains a key strategic partner, holding a 30% stake in the venture.

Jollibee’s Chairman, Tony Tan Caktiong, emphasized the company’s disciplined approach to investment, focusing on acquisitions that deliver both financial returns and operational scalability. These moves demonstrate a clear vision for long-term value creation.

The strong fourth-quarter performance was fueled by robust growth across various brands. Philippine operations saw a 9.7% increase, with standout performances from Jollibee (9.8%), Mang Inasal (20.5%), and Chowking (5.4%).

Internationally, growth was even more pronounced, climbing 15.4%. Key contributors included operations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia (EMEAA), as well as impressive gains from Compose Coffee (24.2%), Highlands Coffee (23.1%), and Jollibee North America (18.7%).

By the end of 2025, Jollibee’s global store network expanded to 10,341 outlets, with a significant international presence encompassing 576 stores in China, 348 in North America, and a substantial network of coffee and tea brands across Asia and beyond.

Full-year systemwide sales for 2025 increased by an impressive 16.6% year-over-year, solidifying Jollibee’s position as a global leader in the food service industry.

Looking ahead, Jollibee is preparing for a significant structural change: the spin-off of its international business into a separate entity, Jollibee Foods Corp. International (JFCI). This new company is slated for a listing on a US stock exchange by late 2027, while domestic operations will remain listed locally.
