DEMOCRAT'S PAST EXPLODES: Scandal Rocks Campaign!

DEMOCRAT'S PAST EXPLODES: Scandal Rocks Campaign!

A rising political star, Latin music icon Bobby Pulido, now finds his congressional campaign shadowed by a disturbing past connection. Pulido, the Democratic nominee in Texas’ 15th District, is facing intense scrutiny over his long-standing relationship with Frankie Caballero, a convicted child predator.

The controversy centers on a 2018 concert video resurfaced recently. In it, Pulido made a veiled joke referencing Caballero’s criminal history, a moment his opponent, Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz, claims proves Pulido’s awareness of Caballero’s offenses. The comment, a seemingly innocuous quip about Caballero’s education, now carries a chilling weight.

Caballero’s history is deeply troubling. He’s a registered sex offender, convicted of indecent contact with an eight-year-old girl. Yet, despite this conviction, and even prior accusations dating back to 1992, Caballero repeatedly shared the stage with Pulido, appearing with him for years after his initial arrest and subsequent imprisonment.

De La Cruz has been vocal in her condemnation, questioning why Pulido repeatedly brought a known predator into communities and around families. She asserts that Pulido’s decades-long association with Caballero demonstrates a profound disregard for the safety of children, characterizing him as a celebrity disconnected from the realities of the district he seeks to represent.

Pulido’s campaign vehemently denies any prior knowledge of Caballero’s sex offender status, claiming he severed ties immediately upon learning the truth. They accuse De La Cruz of spreading falsehoods, attempting to derail Pulido’s campaign with unsubstantiated claims.

However, a former Democratic prosecutor in Hidalgo County disputes Pulido’s claims of ignorance. The prosecutor argues that Pulido’s 2018 concert remark suggests a disturbing familiarity with Caballero’s crimes, leaving little room for plausible deniability.

The timeline reveals a pattern of association. Pulido and Caballero first collaborated in 1995, just three years after Caballero’s initial arrest. Caballero continued to contribute to Pulido’s albums throughout the late 90s, and remarkably, toured with Pulido again between 2018 and 2021, even after Caballero’s 2014 conviction and imprisonment.

Further complicating matters, Caballero faced additional charges in 2020 and 2021, including attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child, though these were later dismissed. He also faced charges related to failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and assault.

Pulido’s campaign manager stated that Caballero was immediately fired upon learning of his criminal history in 2021, expressing sympathy for the victims. But the question lingers: for decades, was a dangerous individual allowed to operate within Pulido’s inner circle, and what did Pulido truly know?

The accusations against De La Cruz, brought forth by Pulido’s campaign – alleging past accusations of abuse and a temporary restraining order – add another layer of complexity to the already fraught political battle. These claims, however, do little to diminish the gravity of the allegations surrounding Pulido’s connection to Caballero.

As the election draws near, voters are left to grapple with a disturbing narrative of alleged knowledge, repeated association, and the potential endangerment of a community. The case raises profound questions about responsibility, judgment, and the price of celebrity.
