SHOTGUN TEEN STORMED THE CAPITOL: Crisis Averted?!

SHOTGUN TEEN STORMED THE CAPITOL: Crisis Averted?!

A chilling scene unfolded in Washington, D.C., as an 18-year-old man sprinted towards the U.S. Capitol building, weapon in hand. The individual, later identified as Carter Camacho from Georgia, was quickly intercepted by law enforcement, averting a potential disaster.

Camacho was seen running from an SUV, clad in what authorities described as ‘tactical gear’ – a tactical vest, gloves, and a Kevlar helmet. A gas mask was discovered inside the vehicle, alongside additional shotgun rounds carried on his person. The car itself wasn’t registered to him, adding another layer of mystery to the unfolding events.

Police Chief Michael Sullivan described the swift action taken by officers. Camacho ran “several hundred yards” before being tackled and ordered to drop the loaded shotgun he carried. He complied with the commands, and the weapon was secured.

Capitol Police arrest a gunman at US Captiol. Gunman was identified as Carter Manacho, 18, from Smyrna, GA. He had a shotgun when arrested.

The incident occurred while Congress was not in session, but the immediate area was secured as a precaution. Investigators are now meticulously working to uncover Camacho’s motive, examining his multiple addresses and background for clues.

This event is not isolated. In 2022, an 84-year-old man, Tony H Payne, was arrested near the Capitol with unregistered firearms and ammunition, claiming he was delivering documents to the Supreme Court. The Capitol grounds are, of course, a prohibited zone for weapons.

The past few years have seen a disturbing pattern of individuals attempting to bring weapons to the heart of American democracy. A 2022 incident involved a man who fatally shot himself after crashing into a Capitol barricade, and in 2021, another individual was apprehended with an array of blades, including knives and a machete, near the Democratic National Convention headquarters.
