The footage depicts a young man, believed to be the 21-year-old rapper, rapping about his escape and dismissing the government as “phoneys.” A news report detailing his initial flight from custody played on a television in the background.
The lyrics are defiant, laced with references to previous escapes and a bold claim of legendary status. He boasts of breaking free “like Modie,” and mocks the police, declaring himself untouchable “like Kobe.” The video is a direct challenge to those pursuing him.
This isn’t Boakye’s first attempt to evade capture. He had previously absconded from custody just days before his escape from the hospital, demonstrating a pattern of calculated risk and a determination to remain free. Police chased him after the Sunday escape, but he managed to slip away.
Authorities describe Boakye as a black man of medium height and slim build, last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket. His previous arrest occurred in Thamesmead last week, only to be followed by this latest, more public, act of defiance.
