MANILOW DOWN! Tour SHATTERED by Sudden Health Crisis!

MANILOW DOWN! Tour SHATTERED by Sudden Health Crisis!

Barry Manilow, the voice of a generation, faces another delay in returning to the stage. The beloved singer, 82, has postponed the start of his arena tour following a recent health setback, leaving fans anxiously awaiting his return.

Weeks before the highly anticipated tour launch, Manilow shared a deeply personal update with his followers. He recounted a sobering conversation with his surgeon, a discussion that ultimately led to the difficult decision to postpone.

“Just got home from visiting the surgeon. Very depressing visit,” Manilow revealed, his words echoing the frustration and disappointment he felt. Despite a rigorous training regimen – three daily sessions on the treadmill – he found himself unable to complete even three songs without needing to stop.

U.S. singer-songwriter Barry Manilow performs during the Recording Academy and Clive Davis' Salute To Industry Icons 50-Year Anniversary of the pre-Grammy gala at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on February 1, 2025.

The surgeon’s assessment was direct: his lungs simply weren’t ready for the demands of a 90-minute show. While acknowledging Manilow’s impressive progress given his recent health challenges, the doctor emphasized the need for further healing.

This latest hurdle follows a challenging period for the singer, beginning with a bout of bronchitis in December. During that time, a spot was discovered on his lung, prompting concern and a period of recovery.

Manilow, however, remained optimistic, assuring fans the spot was detected early and hadn’t spread. He credited both luck and his dedicated physician for the timely diagnosis, noting that neither chemotherapy nor radiation was required.

Despite the setback, Manilow’s spirit remains unbroken. He’s now rescheduling the initial shows, aiming for a launch in April, and still plans to fulfill his Las Vegas residency at the end of March.

“When I do come back, I will COME BACK!!!” he declared with unwavering determination. He acknowledged his body had endured a significant ordeal and needed time to fully recover, a sentiment he echoed with a heartfelt, “I’m going back to healing.”

Signing off with “All my love and gratitude, B,” Manilow’s message resonated with vulnerability and resilience. It’s a testament to his enduring passion for music and his deep connection with his devoted fanbase.

The delay is a reminder of the physical toll performing can take, even on the most seasoned artists. But Manilow’s commitment to his craft, and his unwavering promise to return, offers a beacon of hope to those who cherish his music.
