CHURCHILL VANDALIZED: Activist Arrested in Outrageous Attack!

A wave of controversy erupted in central London as the iconic statue of Winston Churchill was defaced with pro-Palestinian graffiti in the early hours of Friday morning. Red paint marred the monument in Parliament Square, sparking immediate condemnation and a swift police response.

Authorities were alerted to the vandalism shortly after 4:00 AM, and officers arrived on the scene within two minutes. The graffiti boldly proclaimed Churchill a “zionist war criminal,” alongside demands to “free Palestine” and “stop the genocide.”

Cleaning crews immediately began the painstaking task of removing the paint, working to restore the statue to its original state. The Greater London Authority swiftly denounced the act as vandalism, emphasizing the urgency of the cleanup operation.

A worker used a pressure hose to clean the graffiti off the statue of Winston Churchill.

The Prime Minister’s office issued a strong statement, labeling the damage “completely abhorrent” and expressing gratitude for the swift arrest of a 38-year-old man on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage. Churchill, they affirmed, remains a “great Briton” whose values must be defended.

An activist identifying as Olax Outis, affiliated with the campaign group Prisoners for Palestine, claimed responsibility for the act. A pre-recorded message, circulated online, suggested the activist anticipated arrest and framed the action as a form of peaceful protest.

The graffiti also included the phrase “globalise the intifada,” a slogan that has drawn increased scrutiny from law enforcement. Police have previously stated that individuals chanting this phrase could face arrest, citing concerns about antisemitism and incitement to violence.

This stance follows a series of disturbing events, including a deadly attack on a synagogue in Manchester and a tragic shooting at a Jewish festival in Sydney, Australia, where fifteen people lost their lives. The phrase “intifada” refers to periods of Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation, spanning from 1987-1993 and 2000-2005.

This isn’t the first time the 12-foot Churchill statue has been targeted. It has been subjected to vandalism on multiple occasions, including during protests associated with the Black Lives Matter movement and Extinction Rebellion demonstrations in 2020, highlighting its status as a focal point for political expression.
