COSTCO NIGHTMARE: Deadly Dessert Recall – Check Your Fridge NOW!

COSTCO NIGHTMARE: Deadly Dessert Recall – Check Your Fridge NOW!

A popular dessert, widely available in Costco warehouses across Canada, has been urgently recalled due to a hidden danger: undeclared cashews and macadamia nuts. This isn't a minor oversight; for individuals with nut allergies, even a trace amount can trigger a severe, potentially life-threatening reaction.

The recall, initiated voluntarily by Mellow Food, focuses on their Delici Dubai Style Chocolate Mousse. The company discovered the potential for these unlisted ingredients to be present, prompting immediate action to protect vulnerable consumers.

Costco Canada first alerted shoppers to the recall on Tuesday, detailing the specific product codes and best-before dates to watch for. The affected mousse was sold between January and February of this year, meaning many households may still have it in their freezers.

Delici Dubai Style Chocolate Mousse has been recalled from Costco warehouses in Canada over ‘potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.’

Specifically, the recalled product is the Delici Dubai Chocolate Mousse, identified by Costco Item #1990644 and UPC code 812190020825. It comes in packages of six, each containing 76 grams of the mousse.

To help consumers quickly identify potentially dangerous products, a list of best-before dates has been released. These include BB/MA 27 FEB 26, BB/MA 02 MAR 26, BB/MA 04 MAR 26, BB/MA 05 MAR 26, BB/MA 06 MAR 26, BB/MA 09 MAR 26, BB/MA 11 MAR 26, BB/MA 13 MAR 26, BB/MA 18 MAR 26, BB/MA 25 MAR 26, and BB/MA 27 MAR 26.

Costco is offering a full refund for any returned packages of the recalled mousse. This ensures consumers aren’t left with a product that could pose a serious health risk.

If you suspect you’ve experienced an allergic reaction after consuming this mousse, immediate medical attention is crucial. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises contacting your healthcare provider without delay.

This recall follows closely on the heels of another recent Costco product recall – a baby formula pulled from shelves due to potential contamination. The Kendamil brand infant formula was found to possibly contain a dangerous toxin, highlighting a pattern of recent safety concerns.

For further information or to report a potential reaction, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency can be reached by phone at 1-800-601-1774, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Vigilance and awareness are key to protecting yourself and your family.
