TORONTO SCAMMER & BRAMPTON BUST: $2.5M STOLEN – DETAILS REVEALED!

A Toronto man is facing serious allegations after York police uncovered a multi-million dollar investment scam. Sergiy Shchavyelyev, 40, has been charged with six counts of fraud, each exceeding $5,000, following a lengthy investigation.

The investigation began when a concerned investor came forward in March, claiming they’d been defrauded through Equity Line Service Corporation in February of the previous year. They were promised a return on their investment, a promise that ultimately went unfulfilled.

As detectives dug deeper, a disturbing pattern emerged. Five additional victims revealed they too had entrusted funds to Shchavyelyev, totaling over $2.5 million. Investigators allege the suspect then diverted these funds for personal use.

Sergiy Shchavyelyev, 40, of Toronto was charged with six counts of fraud over $5,000 by police in York Region.

Police released a photograph of Shchavyelyev, believing more individuals may have fallen victim to the scheme and are urging them to come forward with information. The financial repercussions for those affected could be devastating.

Meanwhile, in Caledon, a drug trafficking investigation culminated in the arrest of three Brampton men. A search warrant executed at a residence revealed a significant quantity of opium – approximately 480 grams – along with two firearms, ammunition, and a replica handgun.

Kushdeep Kaur, 25, faces charges related to the unsafe storage of firearms. Balpreet Kaur, 26, and Arun Kumar, 20, are accused of possessing the opium with the intent to traffic it, highlighting the dangers of the illicit drug trade.

Caledon OPP allegedly seized these guns and drugs after a search warrant was served on a Brampton residence.

In a separate incident, Oshawa police responded to reports of a man brandishing a firearm during what turned out to be a music video shoot. Officers arrived to find a group filming, and quickly discovered two loaded firearms within the vehicles.

Four individuals, including two teenagers aged 16 and 17, now face charges including possession of a firearm without a license and occupying a vehicle with a firearm. The 16-year-old suspect was already under court conditions prohibiting weapon possession from a previous arrest.

The incident underscores the escalating concerns surrounding illegal firearms and their presence in public spaces, even during seemingly innocuous activities. Authorities are seeking any footage or information related to the Oshawa incident.
