A Nevada judge delivered a sentence to Maison Des Champs, the man known as the “pro-life Spiderman,” for a daring climb up the Las Vegas Sphere. The 26-year-old received 45 days in jail, a suspended sentence, and a year of probation, a consequence for a stunt that authorities claim caused significant damage.
Des Champs pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor – acting with willful disregard for safety – stemming from the February 2024 incident. Court records reveal a 364-day jail term was issued, but all but 45 days were suspended, meaning he’s currently in custody with an anticipated release date around June 4, 2026.
The climb wasn’t simply an act of defiance; it was a livestreamed spectacle intended to raise funds for a woman named Isabel. Des Champs used the event to support her, describing her as a homeless woman facing a difficult decision regarding her pregnancy.
The stunt resulted in approximately $100,000 in damage to the 366-foot-tall Sphere, a landmark that became Des Champs’ temporary canvas. He was ordered to pay $77,270.32 in restitution to Sphere Entertainment Company for the repairs.
Des Champs’ fundraising efforts proved surprisingly successful, generating over $47,000 through the nonprofit Let Them Live. The funds were intended to provide Isabel with the support she needed, offering a lifeline during a vulnerable time.
This wasn’t Des Champs’ first high-stakes climb. He has a history of scaling skyscrapers, often linking these acts to fundraising for expectant mothers in need. In 2023, he ascended the 40-story Chase Tower in Phoenix, driven by a desire to demonstrate “faith over fear.”
Later that same year, he tackled a 42-story skyscraper in Chicago, again livestreaming the ascent as part of a campaign to help another woman facing hardship. These actions established a pattern of using extreme stunts to draw attention to his cause.
Des Champs entered his guilty plea in October 2025, and the case officially closed following his sentencing on April 20. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the lengths to which individuals will go to advocate for their beliefs, and the consequences that can follow.
