PORTS EXPLODE: Cebu & Iloilo Shatter Records!

The Port of Cebu experienced a surge in revenue during February, collecting a remarkable 3.53 billion. This figure didn’t just meet expectations – it decisively exceeded them, signaling a period of strong economic activity within the region.

The port’s performance surpassed its assigned target of 3.39 billion by a significant 145.1 million, representing a 4.28% increase. This positive deviation underscores the port’s vital role in bolstering the Bureau of Customs’ overall revenue generation.

February marked the third consecutive month the Port of Cebu has outperformed its revenue goals under the leadership of District Collector Alexandra Yap-Lumontad. This consistent success points to streamlined processes and a dedicated team focused on facilitating trade and maximizing collections.

Yap-Lumontad emphasized that these results demonstrate the power of efficient operations and unwavering commitment. Her vision is clearly translating into tangible financial gains while simultaneously supporting legitimate commercial activity.

The success wasn’t isolated to Cebu. The Port of Iloilo also demonstrated exceptional performance, collecting 296.44 million in revenue for February. This achievement dramatically exceeded the monthly target of 233.21 million.

Iloilo’s revenue collection surpassed its target by an impressive 27.11%, equating to an additional 63.23 million. This substantial increase highlights the growing economic strength of the region and the port’s ability to capitalize on it.

Looking at the broader picture, the Port of Iloilo’s cumulative revenue for January and February reached 679.45 million. This figure also exceeded expectations, surpassing the two-month target of 584.65 million by a noteworthy 16.21%.

These combined results from both Cebu and Iloilo paint a picture of robust revenue performance across key ports. They suggest a positive trend in trade activity and efficient customs operations contributing to the nation’s economic health.
