A quiet night downtown turned violent last month, leaving one man hospitalized and police searching for three suspects. The incident unfolded in the early hours of February 8th, around 2:50 a.m., near the bustling intersection of King Street West and Spadina Avenue.
Three men were inside a downtown establishment when they noticed others surreptitiously handling their personal belongings. Confronting the individuals, they asked them to leave, hoping to de-escalate the situation and reclaim their peace.
But the encounter didn’t end there. As the three men exited the establishment, the suspects emerged from a nearby residence, immediately launching an unprovoked attack. The assailants quickly retreated back inside the residence following the assault.
Paramedics rushed one of the victims to the hospital with serious injuries, though thankfully, his condition was not life-threatening. Details regarding the victims’ ages have not been released.
Police are currently seeking the public’s help in identifying the three individuals involved. The first suspect is described as approximately 5’10” with a medium build and shaggy black hair, last seen wearing a black puffer jacket, black jeans, and black and white Nike shoes.
The second suspect stands around 5’8” with a medium build and short black and grey hair. He was wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood, a white T-shirt, black jeans, and white running shoes at the time of the incident.
The third suspect is described as 5’10” with a muscular build, short black hair, and a distinct black beard. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, and light brown work boots.
Anyone with information regarding the identities of these individuals or the events of that night is urged to contact authorities. Tips can be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
