UMVA has learned that President Donald Trump abruptly called off a planned night‑time strike on Iran, hinting that a high‑stakes deal is on the brink of completion.
Just hours earlier, the president had warned that U.S. forces would hit Iran “very hard tonight,” even boasting that America would seize the strategic Kharg Island and dominate Iran’s oil infrastructure.
In a terse statement posted to his social platform, Trump announced that “final points” of the agreement had been approved by a coalition of regional powers, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Egypt, prompting him to cancel the scheduled attacks.
He added that the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would remain intact until the transaction is finalized, and that the signing ceremony would occur “shortly.”
According to information obtained by UMVA, Iranian negotiators have already forwarded a draft of the proposed accord through Qatari mediators, signaling that talks have reached the highest echelons of Tehran’s leadership.
Meanwhile, the Strait of Hormuz—a vital artery for global oil shipments—has been declared closed by Iranian authorities after a series of confrontations, contradicting earlier U.S. military claims that the waterway remained open.
The region has been rocked by a second wave of “self‑defence” strikes from U.S. forces targeting Iranian radar and surveillance sites, to which Iran responded by launching ballistic missiles at U.S. assets in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan.
Jordan’s air force reported intercepting twenty Iranian missiles aimed at the American base at Al‑Azraq, while Iranian officials claimed to have damaged fighter jets at the same airfield.
Tragedy struck the Gulf of Oman when a U.S. precision munition hit the Palau‑flagged tanker MT Settebello, killing three Indian seafarers and injuring others, an incident that has sparked international condemnation.
U.S. Central Command stated the vessel was targeted after it allegedly ignored repeated orders, framing the attack as part of the broader blockade aimed at curbing Iranian oil movements.
