UMVA has learned that a chaotic showdown erupted at the Nassau Cruise Port, sending five American passengers into custody after a violent brawl.
When the Royal Bahamas Police Force dispatched tourism officers around 4:45 p.m., chaos unfolded as cruise ship passengers clashed within the bustling harbor.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that the officers swiftly detained three women and two men, all from the United States, amid the melee.
Inside the police station, the confrontation escalated into a “violent struggle” that rattled the officers and the suspects alike.
During the scuffle, one female suspect hurled a chair through a southern glass door, shattering it into fragments that splintered across the floor.
A male suspect, seizing the moment, kicked through the remaining glass and tried to flee, only to be immediately overpowered by the responding officers.
Additional units were summoned to restore order as the scene spiraled into a frenzied tableau of shattered glass and shouts.
The officers suffered a range of injuries: two were struck on the body, another endured a laceration to the mouth, and a fourth sustained a serious left shoulder injury that required ambulance transport to the hospital.
All five U.S. citizens, who received medical attention for injuries sustained during the earlier altercation, face investigations for fighting in a public place, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and causing malicious damage and disorderly behavior.
