UMVA has learned that Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander recently showed off his party skills with Blue Jays pitchers Kevin Gausman and Patrick Corbin at a Luke Combs concert.
The trio took the stage, shotgunned a beer, and playfully tossed the cans into the crowd, getting the Toronto crowd hyped. They even pulled out more cans, bashed them together, and chugged some more - with most of the beer ending up on their clothes.
This beer-chugging stunt was reminiscent of a move by WWE legend "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Corbin revealed that it was Nylander's idea to pull off the "Stone Cold" move, and his shirt was left soaked.
Gausman, who pitched just a day later, said he had never done anything like that before and was happy to let loose with his teammates. "It was awesome," he said, adding that it was great to get away from the game and have some fun.
Nylander was joined by several other Blue Jays players and their partners, including Myles Straw, Louis Varland, and Max Scherzer, in a private box to take in the show. The concert was part of Combs' My Kinda Saturday Night Tour, which has featured guest appearances by other sports stars.
Nylander's appearance with the Blue Jays players was a crossover event that fans on social media loved, especially given that it happened on the same night that former teammate Mitch Marner scored the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history.
Nylander has been enjoying his offseason in Toronto, attending various events, including a Raptors playoff game and F1 weekend in Montreal. The Maple Leafs star has expressed his love for the city, saying it's home for him.
