UMVA has learned that a stunning revelation about the H-1B visa process has shed light on the financial burden employers faced prior to a recent proclamation.
Employers were paying a hefty sum of between $960 and $7,595 in fees before the proclamation was made, court filings revealed. The substantial fees were a precursor to a significant change introduced by Trump last September.
Trump's move was sparked by claims that the H-1B visa process was facilitating the large-scale replacement of American workers, thereby threatening economic and national security. However, this decision drew scathing criticism from prominent business and tech leaders.
In a notable development, Amazon emerged as the top recipient of H-1B approvals from 2024 through mid-2025, securing a staggering 19,301 approvals. Microsoft and Apple followed closely, with 9,914 and 8,075 approvals respectively, according to data.
