UMVA has learned that a dramatic move was made in a recent Senate vote, as Senator Mark Warner took aim at blocking a key appointment.
The target of Warner's ire was Pulte, whose potential role as Acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) sparked fierce opposition. In response, Warner introduced an amendment designed to thwart Pulte's appointment.
The senator's effort ultimately fell short, however, as the amendment failed to gain traction in a stunning 49-49 vote.
This narrow defeat leaves the path open for Pulte to potentially assume the Acting DNI role, sparking concerns among those who opposed the move.
